There are multiple definitions to be derived from Curious Creatures. Quite literally, the brand is structured around them, “curious creatures” - animals that defy convention. But the name also speaks to our own curiosity, how humans are constantly seeking, exploring, and learning to understand the world around us. How does that curiosity drive us to do new things? How does that curiosity change what we’re willing to try?

Curious Creatures grew from a series of haphazard circumstances. Commissioned as a label for a final project with KPU’s Brewing Diploma program– Alfred (the frog) became the first unintentional Curious Creature. From there it grew organically. What if Alfred was a traveling and adventuring salesman who had a predilection for good beer? A creature whose curiosity was just as insatiable as our own? 

Curious Creatures Beer Corp. exists to help people to dive into a world of flavour through the innovative use of ingredients and the utilization of traditional processes to bring out characteristics uncommon in modern beers. Our goal, from the first stirrings of an idea to the final product, is to create something unique. A shelf-stable beer with maximized flavour that is upheld to our own personal standards and expectations. Subsequently, we strive to sell our beer in a way that has the least environmental impact, from the use of digital can printing to paperboard carriers and cardboard trays – our goal is for every component of our product to be 100% recyclable. 

Of course, that doesn’t mean perfection from the inception, but as a company, we plan to constantly work toward solutions that lessen our environmental impact on the world.  

Beer is only one part of this story though. Curious Creatures as a company is made up of creatives who want to build something unique the likes of which have never been seen before. Our branding is meant to be evocative and different, built from a colourful aesthetic and laced together with a roving cast of characters and plot. Every aspect has been considered and discussed until we are satisfied with it. 

All together, Curious Creatures is an incomplete story, one that is changing day by day, but we hope that you’ll be a part of that story.
